Fiorentina have stepped up their interest in Jacopo Fazzini and propose to hold further talks with Empoli about signing the central midfielder.
Sporting directors from both clubs will sit down this weekend to thrash out terms with the intention to suit both parties. According to soccer journalist Alfredo Pedulla, the difference in Fazzini’s valuation is the main stumbling block so far.
The 22-year-old is currently on international duty with the Italian Under 21 roster in Slovakia for the 2025 European Championship. Fazzini has only featured against Spain so far, playing 73 minutes in the 1-1 group stage draw.
Jacopo Fazzini Transfer News
On Wednesday, it was reported that Torino, Bologna and Lazio were all in the race with Fiorentina to sign Jacopo Fazzini this summer. The Italian U21 star looks certain to leave Empoli after their relegation to Serie B.
However, new Toro head coach Marco Baroni has been informed that his side don’t have any real chance of landing Fazzini from the Tuscans.
As it stands, Fiorentina are the favorites with the safest online betting sites to secure Fazzini’s signature. Bologna and Lazio still remain keen but the Viola holds the advantage at the moment.
It’s reported that Empoli wants around €12-13million for Fazzini. Fiorentina are trying to navigate a deal for €9m plus add-ons and performance related bonuses.
Jacopo Fazzini Stats
Since making his Empoli debut in 2022-23, Fazzini has scored a total of seven goals for the Tuscans. The 22-year-old has also contributed three assists in 76 appearances.
Last season, Fazzini netted four times and provided one assist in 20 Serie A appearances. He also scored twice in the 4-1 Coppa Italia win against Catanzaro last August.
Fazzini’s contract still has two years to run at the Stadio Castellani. However, with high interest in their academy product, Empoli are likely to cash in this summer.
Will Jacopo Fazzini Sign For Fiorentina?
Fiorentina are the current favoites to sign Jacopo Fazzini but a lot hinges on how this weekend’s talk materialize. If a transfer fee can be agreed, it would certainly appear that the Viola can go on and get the deal done.
Meanwhile, Ciro Immobile has been linked with a Serie A return with both Fiorentina and Milan interested. Veteran forward Edin Dzeko passed his medical at the Stadio Franchi on Thursday so his imminent arrival will be announced next week.
The Florence-based side is also set to name Stefano Pioli as their new head coach as well. The 59-year-old was most recently at Al-Nassr and actually managed Fiorentina between 2017-2019.
