The latest Josh Sargent transfer update has revealed that Fiorentina are interested in signing the Norwich and USMNT forward.
Incoming head coach Stefano Pioli is a keen admirer of Sargent and wants him on board at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in the new season.
Pioli has recently left his role at Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr as he closes in on his return to Florence. The 59-year-old was previously in charge of the Viola between 2017-2019.
FootItalia sources have explained that Sargent remains Pioli’s top target as he plans on increasing the firepower in his roster. The club has recently signed Edin Dzeko, Jacapo Fazzini and concluded a permanent deal for Albert Gudmundsson.

Earlier this month, FootItalia reported that Udinese were set to rival Roma in the race for USMNT star Josh Sargent. Any potential bid will remain on ice for two main factors.
The first is owing to star forward Lorenzo Lucca’s future. The Azzurri star has been linked with a number of clubs in recent weeks so Sargent was viewed as an ideal replacement.
Secondly, the Bianconeri are expected to be taken over by the Guggenheim Partners. They are set to replace the Pozzo family who are expected to sell the club to the US firm in the coming weeks.
That means Udinese’s transfer plans will be put on hold once they know their stance in the market. That has left the path clear for Fiorentina to stake their interest and line up a bid for Sargent.
What Clubs Are Interested In Josh Sargent?
Josh Sargent is being pursued by a number of clubs. Concrete interest remains from English Premier League side Leeds United. The Whites want the American forward on board as they embark on their top-flight return in 2025-26.
Udinese are also in the race for Sargent alongside Roma. Other English clubs such as Everton, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest were all linked with the American in the January transfer window.
