Everton are reportedly upping their pursuit for Taty Castellanos after Lazio identify Giacomo Raspadori as a possible replacement this summer
Will Everton Sign Taty Castellanos?
The Argentinian striker put clubs across Europe on alert during the 2024/25 campaign, contributing to 22 goals in 40 appearances for Lazio (14G + 8).
Putting in such impressive performances meant that Castellanos earned his first cap for the Argentinian national team, coming off the bench in a 3-0 victory over Chile in September 2024.
Lazio’s season followed a very similar trend to their previous year, finishing seventh in consecutive campaigns and accumulating four more points – 65 in 2024/25 and 61 in 2023/24.
The Rome-based club also endured a chaotic end to the season, as their last five league matches saw seven red cards overall and three of these were awarded to Lazio.
None of these fell to the Argentinian striker, however, his end of season run failed to live up to expectations as he failed to score in any of the final five matches.
Despite this poor end to the season, Premier League outfit Everton are reportedly interested in landing the 26-year-old’s signature and an additional striker could be much-needed in Merseyside.
Armando Broja will return to his parent club Chelsea, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has struggled with injuries in recent seasons and Beto is their only real goal-threat up front.
If the Toffees are serious about their interest in Castellanos then the club will have to fork out around $30 million, as Lazio are unwilling to sell their star man for anything less.
David Moyes will be hoping to strengthening his squad this summer, as the Toffees are one of the favorites to be relegated from the Premier League on the best betting sites.
Are Lazio Interested In Giacomo Raspadori?
A key part of Castellanos’ exit from Rome is whether Lazio can find an appropriate replacement or not and Napoli striker, Giacomo Raspadori, has been identified as a possible target.
The Italian international has been an honorable servant to Napoli since joining in the 2022 summer transfer window, contributing to 28 goals in 109 appearances.
Agreeing a deal for the Italian forward may not be a simple task with the likes of AC Milan and Roma all interested in the 25-year-old, however, Lazio have already shown real intent during the summer transfer window so far, opening negotiations with Barcelona over a deal for Spanish midfielder, Pablo Torre.
Raspadori’s deal in Naples does not expire until June 2028 and any fee will need to be around $35-40m to tempt Napoli into selling their star player.
