Alvaro Morata is set to join Como — and it’s all thanks to Victor Osimhen’s blockbuster €75 million move from Napoli to Galatasaray.
Why Morata Como Transfer Hinges on Osimhen Exit
The dominoes are falling. With Victor Osimhen’s transfer to Galatasaray all but completed, Galatasaray has greenlit Alvaro Morata’s permanent switch from AC Milan to Como, where he will reunite with former Chelsea teammate Cesc Fabregas.
Morata had spent the last six months on loan in Istanbul after a frustrating half-season at Milan but had made it clear he didn’t want to return to San Siro.
Now, with Galatasaray offloading Osimhen and no longer needing Morata, the path is clear for Como to secure the 32-year-old’s signature.

Why Morata Chose Como
Morata has been eyeing a move to Como for over a month, having been impressed by Fabregas’ vision and the club’s upward trajectory after finishing 10th in Serie A last season.
Fabregas wants Morata to be the experienced leader at the head of a young, dynamic squad.
The two played together at Chelsea, and that personal relationship proved key in convincing the striker to step away from more high-profile clubs.
Alvaro Morata Recent Stats
Club | Season | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
---|---|---|---|---|
AC Milan | 2024/25 (Aug-Jan) | 25 | 4 | 2 |
Galatasaray (loan) | 2024/25 (Feb-May) | 16 | 7 | 3 |
Total | Full season | 41 | 11 | 5 |
Morata’s form at Galatasaray showed flashes of his best — scoring seven goals in just 16 appearances — and reminded many why he was once one of Europe’s most coveted strikers.
Morata’s Career Renaissance at Como?
At 32, Morata knows this could be one of his final big moves — but it’s also a chance for reinvention. Como won admirers last season under Fabregas for their progressive style and bold tactical shifts. Morata could be the ideal spearhead for this next phase.
There’s also a Spain angle to this: with the 2026 World Cup on the horizon, Morata is keen to stay sharp and in the spotlight to retain his place in Luis de la Fuente’s national squad. He is currently Spain’s fourth-highest scorer with 37 goals.
The deal is worth around €10 million, and because it’s a permanent transfer from Milan, it also helps the Rossoneri balance their books without taking a capital loss.
Milan is expected to redirect funds from Morata’s departure toward a big-money striker — Dusan Vlahovic, Victor Boniface, and Rasmus Hojlund remain top targets.
Meanwhile, Galatasaray’s bold €75m Osimhen splash signals serious intent in Europe and ends a months-long saga over Morata’s future.
