The latest Rasmus Hojlund transfer news has revealed that Inter are plotting a summer swoop for the Man United forward.
Hojlund’s long-term future with the Red Devils is in doubt this off-season. The player himself has struggled for goals and Ruben Amorim’s side are feeling the strain financially after failing to win the Europa League.
That loss to English rivals Tottenham meant that there will be no UCL soccer at Old Trafford next season. Meaning United missed out on a reported £100million ($135m).
Rasmus Hojlund Transfer News
Owing to Man United’s failure to obtain European soccer, a number of players are expected to leave Old Trafford this summer. And Rasmus Hojlund is likely to be one of the first stars to depart.
He is still only 22-years-old and despite a hugely disappointing campaign, clubs around the continent are still willing to give Hojlund a chance.
Even the best offshore sportsbooks remain confident Hojlund will be playing for a different club at the start of the 2025-26 season. Especially after United completed the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves.
The Brazilian star dazzled for the Old Gold last year and moves to Manchester on a five-year deal. That transfer will only limit Hojlund’s game time at Old Trafford in the coming season.
Will Inter Sign Rasmus Hojlund?
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are still keen to sign Rasmus Hojlund. Initial interest arose last month but that has now solidified with Man United facing financial difficulties.
The Nerazzurri are keen to bolster their attacking options with Joaquin Correa and Marko Arnautovic set to leave upon the expiry of their contracts this summer.
Inter did target Joshua Zirkee on loan as well but it appears that they currently favor Hojlund. However, it’s likely that only a temporary switch to the San Siro will suffice.
Simone Inzaghi’s side has approximately €40million to spend on a new forward and that won’t cover what United want for a full sale. Therefore, a loan switch with either an option or obligation to buy is Inter’s best bet.
How Many Goals Did Rasmus Hojlund Score For Atalanta?
Rasmus Hojlund scored a total of 10 goals for Atalanta across 34 appearances in all competitions. The Danish forward only spent the 2022-23 campaign at the Gewiss Stadium.
Nine of those strikes came in Serie A with the other in the Coppa Italia. Although those numbers were relatively average, he was only 20 at the time and considered one of European soccer’s hottest properties.
His time with current employers Man United hasn’t proven successful but Inter remain confident that he’ll be a hit back in Italy.
Rasmus Hojlund 2024-25 Stats
Perhaps the most concerning aspect of Inter signing Rasmus Hojlund is his 2024-25 stats. The Dane endured a largely unforgettable campaign at Man United.
In the English Premier League, Hojlund scored just four goals across 32 appearances. His last came in injury time during the 1-1 draw with Bournemouth in April.
In the Europa League, the 22-year-old fared slightly better. Hojlund scored six times in 15 outings and also provided three assists. Overall for the Red Devils, he has 26 goals to his name from 95 games.
