Fiorentina will enter the 2025/26 season under a new pair of eyes, as Stefano Pioli takes the reins in Florence – but who will the Viola face on their pre-season tour?
Who Will Fiorentina Face On 2025/26 Pre-Season Tour?
The Italian giants parted ways with Raffaele Palladino in the latter stages of May, with both parties agreeing to terminate the 41-year-old’s contract in Florence.
Fans were stunned by the decision as Palladino had agreed an extended deal with the Viola until 2027 just three weeks prior, after the club reached the Europa Conference League semi-finals.
According to reports, the Italian coach had a tricky relationship with Fiorentina’s sporting director, Prader, and tension between the two escalated – with fans being unhappy at the clubs way of playing.
However, the Serie A giants managed to find a replacement in the opening weeks of July, as Stefano Pioli took the reins in Florence for a second time.
The Italian was in charge of the Viola between July 2017 and April 2019, managing 74 matches before parting ways the club to manage AC Milan – winning the league title in 2021/22.
Improving the squad will be a priority this summer, after the Viola finished sixth last season although Fiorentina missed out on a huge name in Paul Pogba who snubbed a return to Italy by signing for Marseille.
Stefano Pioli has already coached his first two matches ahead of next season, as Fiorentina secured clean-sheet victories over Grosseto and Carrarese.
Fiorentina will now turn their attention to the United Kingdom, as the Italian side take on Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on August 3rd.
The Foxes were relegated from the Premier League last season after a poor season under Steve Cooper and Ruud Van Nistelrooy, but Leicester are one of the favorites to earn promotion from the Championship next season on multiple betting apps.
Following this encounter, Fiorentina will take the short trip to Nottingham and take on Nuno Espirito Santo’s Forest side on August 5th, after three Trees qualified for Europe in an impressive 2024/25 campaign.
Finally, the Viola will end their time in England with a bang, as Pioli’s men take on Premier League giants, Manchester United on August 9th at Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim has bolstered his roster this summer, signing Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, with the hopes of moving up the table and avoiding a 15th place finish once again.
