Who Will Lazio Face On 2025/26 Pre-Season Tour?

The Laziali will return for another Serie A campaign on August 28th, as Maurizio Sarri’s side head north to face Cesc Fabregas’ Como on the opening week of the season.

Before this, Lazio will travel around Europe for a list of pre-season fixture to prepare for the upcoming league campaign and the Italian side have already played out their opening encounter.

Maurizio Sarri’s men remained in Italy for the opening clash, as Lazio beat newly dubbed Serie B side, Avelino, 1-0 thanks to a last minute strike from Matteo Guendouzi.

The Rome-based club will now travel to Turkey for a double-header against two of the countries biggest sides, as Lazio face Fenerbahce on July 30th and Galatasaray on August 2nd.

Lazio’s last meeting with Galatsasaray came in another friendly match-up, as Lazio beat the Turkish side 2-1 back in December 2022 and their last competitive clash was back in December 2021 during the Europa League group stages.

After their business in Turkey is over, the Serie A side will head to the United Kingdom and Sarri’s men will take on Burnley, who are one of the favorites to be relegated from the Premier League on multiple betting sites.

These two sides have never faced-off before and interestingly, the women’s team of both Lazio and Burnley will also go head-to-head on the same day (August 9th)

Then, to see off their pre-season tour, Lazio will head back to the Italian capital and welcome the Greek side, Atromitos, on August 16th – 12 days before their Serie A opener against Como.

Why Can’t Lazio Sign Any Players?

The summer transfer window has not been as exciting for Lazio as it has been for other clubs around Europe, as the Laziali were handed a transfer embargo in June of this year.

Maurizio Sarri will not be able to strengthen his side, even with free agents, until January 2026 and this comes after the Serie A side did not meet the three necessary financial regulations.

Suffering such a a major blow could see Lazio drop away from the upper end of the table, with fierce rivals Roma bolstering their side and preparing a move for Igor Paixao.

Despite this clear disadvantage going into next season, Maurizio Sarri has been very vocal about his players cannot use this as an excuse and wants his squad to use it as motivation.

Sarri said: “I told the lads from the first day, either they use alibis, or they can use these problems as extra motivation. We must make improvements, Lazio finished in seventh place for two years in a row and we cannot improve on the market, so we must fight every day to improve the individuals we have here.”
