Italian Soccer Legend Makes Bold Prediction Over AC Milan Winning Serie A Title In 2025/26 Season

Start

Italian soccer icon, Massimo Ambrosini, has made a bold prediction over AC Milan winning the Serie A title next season and praises Italy for appointing Gennaro Gatusso.

What Did Massimo Ambrosini Say About AC Milan Winning Serie A?

AC Milan will be entering the 2025/26 season with a whole new identity following the appointment of Massimilano Allegri, who will take the reins for a second time.

The veteran manager was hired after Sergio Conceicao led Milan to an eighth in the Serie A, meaning the Rossoneri failed to finish in a European qualification spot for the first time since 2016.

Allegri has already added some star names to the side, signing Real Madrid icon Luka Modric and making a fresh bid for Valencia youngster, Javi Guerra.

One man that beleives the red side of Milan should be aiming higher in the league next season is former AC Milan star, Massimo Ambrosini, who claimed the Rossoneri should be ‘at the top of the table’.

Ambrosini said: “Milan must start with the ambition of having to excel, or try to annoy whoever gets in front. A year without Europe allows you to recover in the best way and we saw it with Napoli last year.

“The transfer market will also be important. The goal must be to stay at the top of the table, even if it won’t be easy.”

The Italian soccer star made a staggering 488 appearances for Milan during his career, winning four Serie A titles, two Champions Leagues, Coppa Italia and FIFA Club World Cup.

What Does Ambrosini Think About Italy Appointing Gattuso?

Alongside an illustrious club career, Ambrosini also enjoyed a respectable run with the Italian national side, as the combative midfielder picked up 35 caps for the Azzurri.

Ambrosini never featured in a World Cup for his nation, missing his best chance in 2002 with an injury, but was a part of Italy’s run to the final at Euro 2000.

The Italian national side recently made a huge change to their structure by appointing Gennaro Gatusso as manager, who Ambrosini enjoyed a lengthy career with at Milan.

These two Italian icons made over 250 appearances together during their careers and Ambrosini revealed his thoughts on Gattuso’s appointment – claiming he is the right man in the right place.

Ambrosini said: “Rino is the right man in the right place. He will be able to transmit his passion for the Azzurri, his strength, his determination, but I don’t know.

“People often talk about him for his character and his communication style, neglecting the fact that he is a well-prepared coach, today I would even say experienced.

“He has had many experiences, in Italy and abroad, so Gattuso will also be an important technical value for Italy. Not an easy task, a demanding role in a particular historical phase, he will be observed in all the details.”

Italy will be hoping for a better run in the 2026 World Cup after a poor performance in 2022, which has left them as outsiders to win the competition on the best betting apps.
