Jack Grealish could be on his way out of Manchester this summer and Serie A champions, Napoli, are reportedly keen on the England international.
Will Jack Grealish Leave Manchester City?
When Jack Grealish joined Manchester City for a Premier League transfer record of $139 million, it was believed that he would become one of the best players in Europe based off his time with Aston Villa.
However, despite winning three Premier League titles, an FA Cup, the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Supercup, his time in Manchester has been far from impressive.
In his 157 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side, Grealish has contributed to 30 goals, scoring 17 times and contributing with 23 assists, which is an underwhelming return for a player of his quality.
Grealish’s best spell with the Cityzens came during the 2022/23 season, where the Englishman played a huge part in their treble winning success and achieved his highest goal tally of 11 across all competitions.
Unfortunately for the England international, his journey has gone down hill in the years since and the 29-year-old only managed to score one goal in 20 league appearances last season.
This poor display has seen Grealish drop down the pecking order under Guardiola, with the likes of Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden, Jeremy Doku, Savinho and Omar Marmoush all being preferred options.
Furthermore, the blue half of Manchester have agreed a deal with Lyon to sign the highly-regarded, Rayan Cherki, who takes up a similar position to Grealish.
Adding Cherki to the side would suggest that Manchester City are willing to offload their record signing and Grealish is reportedly being eyed-up by a host of clubs this summer.
Are Napoli Interested In Jack Grealish?
The 2024/25 season was a massive campaign for Napoli, as the Italian side won their second Serie A title and did so on the last day – just pipping Inter Milan to the trophy.
Achieving such a huge feat means that the club are now looking to prepare their squad for next season, where they will defend their title and compete in the Champions League.
Napoli have already been linked with some huge names, including another Manchester City in Kevin De Bruyne, but talks over a deal for De Bruyne have been delayed.
Now, according to reports, the Serie A side are in the running to sign Jack Grealish and will compete with several clubs across Europe to land the Brit’s signature.
Which Clubs Are Keen On Grealish?
Napoli are not the only side that are interested in signing Jack Grealish this summer, with several Premier League sides all keeping tabs on the 29-year-old.
Newcastle, Everton and Chelsea are all said to be in for the Manchester City star this summer and reports suggest that he may prefer to stay in the Premier League.
His deal in Manchester is set to expire in June 2027, meaning any move for his services could cost over $45m and may put off potential suitors like Napoli.
Napoli have only exceeded $40m on a handful of occasions, spending large sums on Konstantinos Manolas, Gonzalo Higuain, Hirving Lozano and of course their record signing, Victor Osimhen.
As for the Premier League outfits, Everton’s financial difficulties over recent years may put a spanner in the works for a deal over Grealish and Newcastle may need to sell to adhere to PSR rules.
However, according to the best betting sites, Everton are the favorites to sign Grealish this summer and a move to Serie A is just behind as the secondary candidate.
