Inter Treble Winner Jose Mourinho Gives Honest Assessment Ahead Of PSG Showdown

Start

Jose Mourinho’s UCL final prediction has been delivered and the legendary head coach is happy to see Inter win. Only because they can’t emulate his achievement in 2010.

The Serie A giants will take on Luis Enrique’s PSG charges on Saturday at the Allianz Arena. Interestingly, it will be the first ever competitive meeting between the two European heavyweights.

On the route to the finale, the Nerazzurri beat the likes of Bayern Munich and Barcelona to reach the showdown. The Parisians saw off Liverpool, Aston Villa and then Arsenal in the semi-final.

The match in Germany is expected to be a tense and tight affair. And those who track the best offshore sportsbooks can find all the latest markets and odds ahead of the game.

Jose Mourinho’s UCL Final Prediction

Jose Mourinho’s UCL final prediction firmly favors his old employers Inter. The self-proclaimed Special One famously landed the treble with the Nerazzurri in 2010. The only boss to do so with an Italian club.

That feat that was completed thanks to a Diego Milito double that helped the Serie A side beat Bayern Munich 2-0 at Real Madrid’s Bernabeu stadium.

Owing to Simone Inzaghi’s side failure to emulate Mourinho’s achievement this season, the current Fenerbahce head coach joked he is happy his record will remain intact.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Mourinho said: “I’m going to be very naughty, but very honest. I was worried they could win the treble because I didn’t want them to win the treble – the treble is mine!

But now they’ve lost the league and the Italian Cup, I would love them to win the Champions League. But of course Luis Enrique is doing an amazing job in Paris.

He’s transformed the team, they lost their No 1 (Kylian Mbappe), but they rebuild in a fantastic way so if Luis wins, I’m also happy for him.”

What Trophies Did Jose Mourinho Win At Inter?

Jose Mourinho won a total of five major trophies during his two seasons with Inter. His first was the Supercoppa Italiana in 2008. On that occasion, the Nerazzurri beat Roma on penalties after a 2-2 draw.

Mourinho would also lead the club to the Serie A title later that same campaign. It was Inter’s third consecutive Scudetto win and his first in Serie A. However, his achievements in 2009-10 are arguably the finest of his career.

The 62-year-old won a historic treble. Landing the league title, Italian Cup and of course, the UCL. Owing to his San Siro success, the Special One joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2010.

Jose Mourinho’s Managerial Major Honors

Serial winner Jose Mourinho has lifted silverware at almost every major club he has managed. The only blemishes come from his time at Benfica, Tottenham and Fenerbahce.

All in all, Mourinho has won eight league titles across four different clubs (Porto, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Inter). He has won two UCL finals as well as the UEFA Cup/Europa League and Conference League – doing so with Roma in 2021.

During his tenure as a professional soccer manager, Mourinho has 26 major honours to his name. He can also boast over 35 personal accolades.

Meanwhile, 40,000 Inter fans have touched down in Munich ahead of Saturday’s showdown. You can almost guarantee that Mourinho will join in on the celebrations if the Nerazzurri get the better of PSG.
