Fabrizio Romano Says Napoli Talks With Milan Are ‘Well Underway’ For USMNT Star Yunus Musah

Start

Yunus Musah looks set to end his Milan stay with Napoli closing in on a deal for the USMNT star.

Musah has struggled in recent months to establish himself as a regular starter for the Rossoneri. Now, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has said that Musah is on the brink of leaving the San Siro.

The US international moved to the Diavolo in 2023 from Spanish side Valencia. Musah was part of the roster who won the Supercoppa Italiana last season but has failed the score in 80 appearances for the club.

Fabrizio Romano On Yunus Musah

On Tuesday, Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Napoli and Milan were in discussions regarding the sale of Yunus Musah. He said:

Napoli are in talks with AC Milan to sign Yunus Musah as new midfielder. Antonio Conte appreciates the player and club to club discussions are now underway.

“Musah, keen on joining Serie A champions with personal terms not an issue.

The world renowned transfer expert continued: “The negotiations are already well underway with AC Milan. More contacts taking place today as Napoli hope to get the deal done soon… …as Antonio Conte has already approved the transfer, as revealed.”

In April, it was reported that USMNT star Yunus Musah was being tracked by Nottingham Forest. However, the Tricky Trees failure to secure Champions League soccer seems to have cooled their interest.

Yunus Musah Transfer News

As far as the latest Yunus Musah transfer news goes, Napoli are in pole position to sign the dynamic central midfielder. Musah’s time at Milan has been fairly hit and miss.

During the 2-2 draw with Fiorentina in April, the USMNT international was hooked after just 23 minutes. The 22-year-old was at fault for both Viola goals and went straight into the changing rooms after being hauled from the field of play.

Even since that game, Musah’s time at the San Siro has been in doubt. He was benched for the following four games and only completed a full 90 minutes on one occasion after that.

Napoli did try to snare Musah last summer but were unsuccessful. French club Lyon have also held an interest as well as English Premier League side Nottingham Forest.

How Much Would Yunus Musah Cost?

According to Transfermarkt, Yunus Musah has a value of €22million. The central midfielder has three years to run on his current deal. When he transferred from Valencia, he cost Milan €18m plus €2m in bonuses.

Therefore, with the above in mind, Napoli would likely pay approximately €25m for Musah. That would give the Rossoneri a small profit on the USMNT international.

It’s also reported that the Diavolo are looking to offload Fikayo Tomori to Napoli as well. English side Newcastle are also reportedly interested.
