Hellas Verona have confirmed that they’ve exercised their option to sign striker Giovanni Simeone permanently from Cagliari. The 26-year-old spent the season on loan with Verona, impressing under new coach Igor Tudor.
Verona have confirmed that they are signing the player outright in a statement on the clubs official website:
Verona – Hellas Verona FC communicates that it has acquired definitively from Cagliari Calcio the right to sports services of the attacker Giovanni Simeone, who has signed a contract with the Gialloblù Club until 30 June 2026.”
Simeone scored 17 goals and provided 6 assists in 36 Serie A appearances, attracting attention from the likes of Juventus. The striker is not expected to remain at Verona for the new season as they are likely to sign him for €12m and sell him on immediately for a profit.
