Pulisic: “Doing what I love for a living is incredible”

Start

Milan winger Christian Pulisic spoke on NBC’s “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon, discussing his journey and experiences as a professional footballer. The Rossoneri forward touched on his time with Milan, and also shed some light (via PianetaMilan) on his ‘eye of the tiger’ celebration:

On achieving his dreams:

“It’s still incredible to me today. I never thought I’d be in this position, doing what I love for a living… It’s incredible.”

On his early aspirations:

“My first memory is with a soccer ball. Maybe when I was 6-7 years old and moved to England, I somehow knew. Almost every year at Halloween, I dressed up as a soccer player. I wasn’t very creative.”

On his family’s influence:

“Both my parents played. My dad was a professional, and my mom was probably the better soccer player between the two: she was a great player.”

On using himself in video games:

“Well, when you’re first included in the video game, you definitely want to use yourself to play. It’s the coolest thing ever.”

Regarding his “Eye of the Tiger” goal celebration:

“No, not exactly. That wasn’t the plan, it wasn’t a celebration, but when I got it, the tattoo artist told me to try it to see if it was perfectly aligned. I was 18-19 years old.”

On the upcoming match against Manchester City:

“Yes, we have a big game against Manchester City next Saturday at Yankee Stadium. I mean, a soccer game at Yankee Stadium… I’m excited before games? Yes, usually, and honestly even more when I play in the United States. It’s always nice to be home and play with my European club in the States.”

On entertaining his European teammates in the US:

“They always ask me. Last year we were in Los Angeles, and they said, ‘Come on Christian, it’s your country, show us something around.’ And I told them, ‘But I’m from Hershey, Pennsylvania…’ New York is a little closer, so maybe I can come up with something…”
