Roma are reportedly just a step away from reaching an agreement for Nicolo Zaniolo’s contract renewal. The 23-year-old was linked with Milan, Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur throughout the summer but remained with the Giallorossi, despite having failed to agree a new long-term deal.
Il Corriere dello Sport now report that the club are in negotiations with the player’s entourage with the aim of agreeing terms on new deal as soon as possible.
The new deal is likely to see Zaniolo sign an extension until 2027 and become one of the club’s top earners with a salary of around 4 million alongside the likes of Lorenzo Pellegrini and Tammy Abraham.
General Manager Tiago Pinto is ready to complete the agreement with Zaniolo’s agent Claudio Vigorelli as soon as next week.
The Italian international has been with Roma since 2018, making 115 appearances over five seasons, scoring 22 goals in all competitions.
