Sassuolo’s Alessio Dionisi Looks Ahead to Bologna Clash: “We Need More Determination”

Start

Following the defeat against Monza, Sassuolo are set to regroup as they face Bologna at the Dall’Ara. As the transfer market concluded with the arrivals of left-back Doig and center-back Kumbulla (who won’t be available for the upcoming match), Sassuolo’s coach, Alessio Dionisi, urges his team to focus on climbing the standings with an eye on the relegation battle. In a role reversal, the Emilia Derby sees Bologna vying for European spots, while Sassuolo aims to secure their place in Serie A:

“We are focused and concentrated on Bologna, and we must avoid making certain mistakes. We always need to think as a team and consider both phases of the game because results are often determined in transitions. If we don’t have an excellent defensive phase, we pay the consequences. I ask for more aggressiveness from an agonistic standpoint: we need to give more.”

“They are doing well, and at home, they concede few points to opponents. They have everything – speed, physicality – and then they play. We need to limit their qualities, but like all teams, they do concede something. We must be clever in exploiting our opportunities.”
