Spalletti receives last-gasp injury boost ahead of Liverpool clash

With Napoli set to host Liverpool at the Stadio Diego Maradonna within their opening fixture of the Champions League, Spalletti has received a last-gasp injury boost ahead of the significant fixture as Victor Osihmen emerges as an option within the front-line.

According to reports from Corriere dello Sport, the Nigerian international striker has reunited with his  teammates after training separately over the last two days due to a minor muscular injury suffered during the league fixture against Lazio over the weekend.

With several hours until Napoli’s highly anticipated return to the Champions League kicks off, I Partenopei have announced that the 23 year-old is included within the squad that will face the Premier League giants.

However, the Tuscan tactician has not yet decided whether or not the promising striker will feature in the starting eleven as he fears to aggravate his injury, which would force him to remain on the sidelines for an extended period.

So far this season, the prolific goal-scorer has proven to be vital under the helm of Spalletti as he tallied two goals and assist within the first five fixtures of the Serie A.

With the clock ticking until the lights of the Champions League shine upon Naples, the Napoli boss finds himself within a difficult predicament ahead of a crucial fixture.
