Zlatan on Giroud: ‘He is a winner and a serious person’

Following the Rossonerri‘s cruising 4-0 victory over Red Bull Salzburg, Milan veteran Zlatan Ibrahimovic praised Olivier Giroud after an impressive display.

Within the match that sealed their spot to the Round of 16 for the first time in nine years, the French international played a vital role as he provided two assists and scored two goals at the San Siro, earning himself the Man of the Match award after the match.

So far this season, the 36 year-old talisman has been fundamental within the front-line as he tallied eight goals and four assists in 17 appearances across all competitions.

While speaking in an interview, as relayed by Tuttomercatoweb, Zlatan touched upon Giroud’s impressive run of form so far this season:

“He is a winner and a serious person. He’s not someone who will ever score 40 goals a year, but he brings that something to the team that others don’t. He is not self-centered, he plays for everyone. When he arrived he gave the team a great hand and did great things.”
