Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed that Mauro Meluso will be the clubs new sporting director. The Partnenopei have been linked with a number of prominent names following the departure of Cristiano Giuntoli, but De Laurentiis decided to confirm a new appointment via his official Twitter account:
“I am pleased to announce that Mauro Meluso is the new sporting director of Napoli. Welcome to our family and best wishes.”
Napoli were expected to make a move for ex-Milan director Frederic Massara last week, but opted for the more experienced Meluso, who has previously worked in Serie B and C.
