Juventus have reportedly told captain Leonardo Bonucci that he is no longer a part of the clubs plans for next season. The 36-year-old has one year left on his contract with the Bianconeri, but injuries and a drop in form have seen his playing time reduced in the last campaign.
Goal Italia and Sky Sport report that the veteran defender is no longer considered part of the starting XI and has been informed he will play a reduced role next season.
The Bianconeri have already extended Dean Huijsen’s contract until 2027, and the youngster is expected to join the first team on pre-season this summer. Koni De Winter, returning from the loan spent at Empoli, may also make the progression to the senior squad in the years ahead.
As such, Bonucci is no longer considered an indispensable player by the Old Lady and has been told that he has to make a decision on his future with the club.
