Roma are making the signing of Alvaro Morata their priority, as they look to find a replacement for the injured Tammy Abraham. The Giallorossi are expected to be without Abraham until later in the year following a knee injury in their win over Spezia last season.
Il Corriere dello Sport claim that Spanish striker Morata is currently in pole position to replace Abraham at the capital club.
Roma have reportedly already made contact with the player’s entourage and Morata has given his go ahead to a move this summer as he is keen on returning to Serie A.
Atletico Madrid are asking for between €20-25 million, but Roma are at work to lower their demands and reach an agreement for the transfer.
The Giallorossi have already agreed terms with Morata for a long-term contract until 2027 worth €4.5 million per year plus €500,000 in bonuses.
