Atalanta have reached an agreement in principle with Milan to sign Belgian attacking midfielder Charles De Ketelaere. There’s been ongoing speculation that the 22-year-old would be allowed to leave in the transfer window after just one season with the Rossoneri. Premier League side Aston Villa and Ligue 1 club Marseille were both thought to be in the running to sign the youngster, but the latest reports suggest Atalanta is now the likely destination for De Ketelaere.

Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that La Dea have reached an agreement in principle with Milan for De Ketelaere’s expensive loan with the option to sign him outright in June 2024.

The move will now be reliant on the Belgian talent, who has to decide which of the offers to accept ahead of the new campaign.

In 40 appearances, including Serie A, Champions League, Super Cup and Coppa Italia, De Ketelaere failed to score a single goal, providing just one assist in a disappointing debut season.
