Juventus are set to extend the contract of defender Federico Gatti following his impressive displays this season. The 25-year-old Italian centre back has featured more prominently in the 2022-24 season, playing both the last two league games against Empoli and Lazio.

An injury to Alex Sandro is likely to see Gatti feature more often in the weeks ahead, and Goal Italia report that a contract renewal for the defender is almost complete.

Gatti is expected to extend his contract until 2028, with the Bianconeri expected to improve his salary beyond the €1 million per season that he currently earns.

The new deal is expected to be announced in the weeks ahead, with just final details to be resolved between the two parties.
