Napoli have confirmed that Victor Osimhen has suffered a thigh injury that could keep him out for around five weeks. The 24-year-old was on international duty with Nigeria when he pulled up in their 2-2 draw with Saudi Arabia. The striker returned to Italy shortly after for medical tests, and Napoli have now confirmed his injury status:
“After the injury suffered in the national team, Victor Osimhen visited the training centre today and was subjected to further tests that showed a medium-degree injury of the femoral biceps of the right thigh.
“The Azzurri striker has started therapy at the SSCN Konami Training Center.”
Sky Sport Italia suggest that the expected recovery time for such an injury is between four-six weeks.
