Napoli have confirmed that coach Rudi Garcia has been sacked, with former Partenopei coach Walter Mazzarri being appointed as his replacement. The decision to sack Garcia was expected, following the clubs defeat to lowly Empoli last weekend, a result that finalised president Aurelio De Laurentiis’ decision to look for a new manager.
The club issued a very brief statement via their official website, saying simply:
SSC Napoli has made the decision to relieve first-team coach Rudi Garcia of his duties with immediate effect.
The club would like to thank Rudi and his coaching staff for their hard work.
De Laurentiis confirmed the arrival of Mazzarri on his official ‘X’ account, saying ‘Welcome back Walter’
