Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie has left the USMNT training camp as a precaution after aggravating an old injury. The USMNT confirmed that the 25-year-old has left the training camp, having played the whole 90 minutes in their  3-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago in the first leg of the CONCACAF Nations League quarter-final.

Reports suggest that he had aggravated tendinopathy in his left knee, but his withdrawal is seen as a precaution.

Goal Italia journalist Romeo Agrestoi confirmed the news, but suggested that McKennie is not in doubt for next weekends highly anticipated Derby D’Italia against league leaders Inter Milan.

McKennie has become a key part of coach Max Allegri’s squad, featuring in every Serie A match so far this season, playing on the right flank as opposed to his more traditional midfield role.
