Inter have agreed terms with Chelsea for the return of striker Romelu Lukaku on a season-long loan. The move was thought to be progressing quickly as the Belgian striker was pushing hard to return to the Nerazzurri where he won the Serie A title in 2020-21.
Sky Sport Italia, SportItalia and a number of other Italian outlets report that the move is now very close to completion with terms having been agreed.
The loan is expected to cost Inter €8m plus up to a further €4m in performance related bonuses that will factor in a potential Inter title win.
Journalist Matteo Moretto reports that the documents for the deal have already been exchanged and all that’s left is a medical and official announcement.
Lukaku spent two season with Inter, scoring 64 goals in 95 appearances across all competitions.
