Juventus will reportedly be observing the first leg of the Europa League semifinals between Marseille and Atalanta, with an eye on four midfielders. Calciomercato report that Teun Koopmeiners is on Juve’s radar, with Bianconeri director Cristiano Giuntoli having placed him at the top of the list of targets to strengthen Juventus’ midfield. However, given a valuation that already exceeds €50 million, a significant sale generating budget for reinvestment will be required first.
The Bianconeri are also reportedly following Atalanta’s Brazilian midfielder Ederson, who is seen more as an alternative to MAnuel Locatelli in front of the defense rather than as a box-to-box midfielder (allowing Locatelli to return to his original role). His valuation is significantly lower than Koopmeiners’.
There’s also Moroccan international Azzedine Ounahi, who was signed by the Ligue 1 side for “only” €8 million in January 2023 after his impressive performance in the Qatar World Cup
Finally, even though he can’t play in the match due to exclusion from UEFA lists, Jean Onana, a Cameroonian born in 2000, on loan with a buyout option at Marseille, but owned by Besiktas (a former target of Milan), remains a more physical and less qualitative profile, akin to Franck Kessie, another old favorite of director Giuntoli.
