Mexican club Cruz Azul have reportedly made enquiries about Torino striker Duvan Zapata and are prepared to make an offer. The 33-year-old has scored 12 goals this season for the Granata, and is expected to be signed outright by the club, having been on a season-long loan.
According to Calciomercato, Cruz Azul were prepared to offer almost €14 million for Zapata, but negotiations haven’t taken off.
The report states that this is because Torino have no intention of letting the Colombian striker leave this summer, while the player himself is more than happy to continue wearing the granata shirt.
Regardless of who will be Torino’s coach next season (for now, the only certainty is that Ivan Juric will leave), the Colombian will reportedly remain a cornerstone of the Torino team.
