Raffaele Palladino is set to be appointed as the new Fiorentina coach, having already met with the clubs management. Palladino reportedly met with the clubs higher-up’s for a preliminary discussion last night, which included club president Rocco Commisso.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the foundation of the deal is set for a two-year contract, similar to the previous arrangement with Vincenzo Italiano. Detailed negotiations are expected to conclude today, barring any unexpected developments, marking the beginning of a new era for the club. Additionally, there will be a change in the technical director position, with Roberto Goretti (formerly of Reggiana) replacing Nicolas Burdisso.
Palladino’s first mission will be to uplift the morale of a city disheartened by the recent Conference League final defeat in Athens against Olympiacos. The official announcements will follow the season’s final match, a rescheduled game against Atalanta in Bergamo tomorrow.
The path is clear for the former Monza manager, who has been identified as the successor to Vincenzo Italiano. Tomorrow, Italiano will lead Fiorentina for the last time in Bergamo, after which the official farewell will take place, even though he has been considered virtually an ex-manager for some time.
