Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the 25-year-old center-back, currently playing for Al-Ahly in Egypt, has caught the attention of the Italian side as they prepare for the upcoming season under new head coach Vincenzo Italiano.
Abdelmonem has been a standout performer for Al-Ahly, featuring in 21 league matches last season and contributing one goal. His defensive prowess has been particularly notable, with the player also making 12 appearances in the prestigious African Champions League. On the international stage, Abdelmonem has already amassed 25 caps for Egypt, finding the net twice for his country.
While formal negotiations have not yet commenced, Bologna is expected to initiate contact with Al-Ahly in the near future.
