Reflecting on Inter’s season opener, Rummenigge downplayed concerns about the draw, emphasizing the team’s strength and consistency. He highlighted the emotional significance of Inter’s recent success, noting, “I know well what it means to have finished ahead of Milan, deservedly I might add…”
Rummenigge praised the new ownership under Oaktree, but singled out Giuseppe Marotta as the club’s most crucial asset. “Beppe is the guarantee of this era: just think of the team he has created with his collaborators, how he manages the company. And how much Juventus has gone down without him,” he remarked.
