AS Roma’s pursuit of Lens defender Kevin Danso has hit a snag as the French club deemed their latest offer insufficient. The Italian side, eager to bolster their defensive options under new manager Daniele De Rossi, must now consider improving their bid to secure the Austrian international.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that on Sunday afternoon, Roma submitted an official proposal to Lens for Danso. The offer consisted of a €1 million loan fee with an obligation to buy set at €21.5 million, plus an additional €1 million in bonuses. However, this package failed to meet Lens’ valuation of the player.
The French club’s rejection of the bid means Roma will need to make an extra effort to close the deal. Lens is reportedly seeking a slightly higher fee for their prized defender, who has been a key figure in their recent success.
