Cristiano Giuntoli, Juventus’ sporting director, spoke to Sky Sport before the club’s Champions League debut against PSV Eindhoven, expressing his excitement about the occasion:
“The Champions League? It’s a great emotion, though I’m no longer new to this competition. Returning after such a long time with Juventus is special.”
Giuntoli then elaborated on the club’s recent financial strategy and progress:
“We’ve just begun, we know it’s a process, and we’re happy with what we’ve accomplished so far. We’ve tried to rehabilitate a club that was losing a lot, putting it on the right path by investing in young players aged 18 to 26, lowering the wage bill, and focusing on group growth rather than individual development.”
Regarding the transfer market, Giuntoli explained:
“The acquisitions have been made. We’ve brought in very young players with very low salaries. We’ve tried to find financial and economic balance that would allow us to begin a new era.”
