In a match marked by injury concerns for both sides, Roma and Monza played out a 1-1 draw in Serie A. The result leaves Roma still adjusting to life under new coach Ivan Juric, while Monza continues to navigate through a significant injury crisis.

Roma, missing key players like Paulo Dybala and Mats Hummels, dominated possession early but struggled to break through. Their first goal was disallowed when Artem Dovbyk was found offside after pouncing on a rebound from Manu Koné’s shot that hit the post.

Monza, despite their depleted squad, showed resilience and nearly took the lead through Daniel Maldini, whose shot forced a crucial save from Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar.

The deadlock was finally broken in the second half when Dovbyk showcased his skill with a brilliant solo effort. The Ukrainian striker beat the offside trap, shrugged off defenders, and fired home from close range to give Roma the lead.

However, Monza’s persistence paid off when substitute Dany Mota Carvalho equalized, tapping in at the far post after a cross from Andrea Carboni was only partially dealt with by Svilar.

Both teams had chances to win it late on, with Koné missing two promising opportunities for Roma and Monza’s goalkeeper Semuel Pizzignacco making a crucial intervention to deny Dovbyk.

The draw leaves both teams reflecting on what might have been, with Roma’s new era under Juric still finding its feet and Monza showing admirable spirit despite their injury woes. As the Serie A season progresses, both sides will be hoping for improved fortunes and a return to full strength.
