Juventus have approached Premier League side Chelsea about the prospect of taking striker Timo Werner on loan next season. The German international struggled to adapt to the league following a big-money move in 2020.

The Guardian are among a number of English and Italian outlets who report that the Bianconeri have now approached Chelsea about taking Werner on loan. The 26-year-old was was criticised by coach Thomas Tuchel after airing his frustrations in public last week.

Chelsea could struggle to sell the striker because of his wages, which are worth around £275,000 a week, but a loan deal could be more feasible for Juve to arrange.

RB Leipzig and Newcastle have both been linked with Werner, who wants to play more before the World Cup later this year.
