Nicolò Rovella, a key player in Lazio’s excellent start to the season, has finally earned his first call-up to the Italian National Team. Coach Spalletti praised the midfielder in a press conference, and Rovella reciprocated the sentiment.
Speaking to Rai Sport, Rovella expressed his admiration for the national team coach: “Spalletti is one of the best Italian coaches. Being called up by him is a source of pride, and I hope to repay his trust on the field.”
The 22-year-old midfielder also revealed his football idols: “Modric has always been my idol, but I also really liked Marchisio. Being able to do everything is important in modern football. I consider myself a player with personality despite being only 22 years old. However, I need to improve physically, and I’m working hard on that.”
Rovella also shared his excitement about the upcoming match against France at San Siro: “San Siro is where I grew up, it means a lot to me. My parents lived five minutes away from the stadium. After my Serie A debut, I walked from San Siro to their house.”
