Juventus will be without first choice goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny for around three weeks after he sustained a thigh injury. It’s the latest in a long series of injuries for the Bianconeri who have already lost Paul Pogba and Weston McKennie to long-term injuries. Federico Chiesa is also expected to be out until at least October before he can resume training with the club.

Juventus confirmed the injury to Szczesny in a brief statement on the clubs official website, shortly after the clubs 4-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in a pre-season friendly:

Due to a discomfort felt at the end of the first half of the match against Atletico Madrid, Wojciech Szczesny underwent radiological exams this morning at J|Medical which revealed a low-grade lesion of the adductor longus muscle of the left thigh. The player is expected to be out for around 20 days.
