Tim Coates, the newly appointed psychologist for AS Roma, has left the club after a brief tenure of only 20 days. Coates joined the team at the beginning of the month on a trial basis, making his first appearance with the squad during their 3-2 loss to Bologna on November 10.

Initially introduced to the club by Mark Sertori, Roma’s head of performance, Coates was set to have a contract that would extend until 2026. However, Il Romanista report that the club decided to terminate his contract shortly after he began his role, marking a swift end to what was intended to be a longer collaboration.

Coates was brought in with hopes of turning around Roma’s fortunes as they faced challenges under coach Ivan Juric. Despite the initial optimism surrounding his appointment, the English psychologist’s time in Italy was cut short, leaving fans and analysts surprised by the abrupt decision.
