Gianluca Di Marzio reports that representatives from the Romanian club are expected in Genoa on Friday, January 3rd, to complete the transfer negotiations for the young forward. Ankeye, born in 2002, has had limited opportunities with Genoa this season, making just four brief appearances in Serie A for a total of 42 minutes on the pitch.
Meanwhile, Gaston Pereiro, who joined Genoa as a free agent, has also struggled to secure regular playing time. The Uruguayan midfielder has only featured for 29 minutes across two matches since his arrival at the club.
Pereiro’s situation has caught the attention of Serie B sides Cosenza and Bari, both of whom have made inquiries about the former Cagliari playmaker. The interest from these clubs could potentially offer Pereiro a chance for more consistent playing time.
