Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the negotiation team, comprising Leon Angel and Frank Trimboli from CAA Base agency and Matt Hargreaves, Manchester United’s Director of Football Negotiations, met with Lecce’s top executives Pantaleo Corvino and Saverio Sticchi Damiani to discuss the 20-year-old Danish wing-back.
Dorgu, who has impressed in Serie A with his exceptional performances and ability to push forward on the wing, has become a prime target for Manchester United. New manager Ruben Amorim sees the young defender as an ideal fit for his tactical 3-4-2-1 system.
The Red Devils have currently tabled an offer of €30 million with an additional €5 million in potential bonuses. However, Lecce remain firm, indicating they will require a more substantial offer to consider selling their talented player.
This transfer pursuit comes at a critical time for Manchester United, who are currently struggling in the Premier League and sit 13th in the table. Amorim, who recently described the squad as potentially “the worst team in history,” is actively seeking reinforcements to improve the team’s performance.
