Lecce President Addresses Dorgu-Manchester United Speculation

Just moments before Lecce’s crucial league match against Inter, club president Saverio Sticchi Damiani spoke to DAZN, addressing the ongoing transfer saga surrounding Patrick Dorgu and Manchester United.

The Red Devils have reportedly intensified their pursuit of the young Danish defender, with the player himself said to be open to the move. United has also reportedly increased their offer to Lecce in an attempt to secure Dorgu’s signature.

Damiani, however, maintained a cautious stance on the potential transfer. He stated, “We’ve made a decision that goes against the grain, to stay consistent with what we previously told our fans about keeping the squad intact. The boy was a bit disoriented last week, but this week he’s been focused.”

The Lecce president acknowledged the intense speculation surrounding Dorgu, noting, “There’s been too much talk about him.” Despite the mounting pressure, Damiani insisted on the club’s resolve, saying, “We will try to resist as long as it makes sense. In the face of things bigger than us, we’ll have to evaluate what’s best for the club.”
