Sky Sport Deutschland report how Posch’s current contract with Bologna runs until June 2026, but the Italian side may be open to selling him now to avoid the risk of losing him on a free transfer in the future. The defender has made 20 appearances for Bologna this season across Serie A and Champions League matches, showcasing his ability to play both as a right-back and in central defence.
Hoffenheim are familiar with Posch’s qualities, as he spent seven years with the club after joining their youth academy in 2015. During his time in Germany, he made 109 Bundesliga appearances before moving to Bologna, initially on loan in September 2022 and then permanently for €5 million a year later.
While Wolfsburg has also expressed interest in Posch, Hoffenheim appears to have the advantage in negotiations. The German club is hoping to strike a deal before the transfer deadline, which would see Posch make a swift return to the Bundesliga.
