Juventus are on the verge of a defensive revolution this winter transfer window, with Jean-Clair Todibo potentially opening the door for further Premier League acquisitions. The Bianconeri, having already secured Portuguese defenders Alberto Costa and Renato Veiga, are now setting their sights on additional reinforcements to bolster their backline.

Calciomercato report that Todibo, the 25-year-old French defender currently on loan at West Ham from Nice, has emerged as Juventus’ primary target. After unsuccessful attempts to sign him last summer, the Turin giants have renewed their interest, proposing a temporary transfer. This move comes after failed pursuits of Antonio Silva, Ronald Araujo, Fikayo Tomori, and David Hancko, with the latter still on Juventus’ radar for the upcoming season.

The potential arrival of Todibo could pave the way for Juventus to explore other British passport holders. Two Chelsea players have been linked with a move to Turin: midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka and left-back Ben Chilwell. Chukwuemeka could be targeted if Nicolò Fagioli departs, with Marseille, Fiorentina, and Parma showing interest. Meanwhile, Chilwell might be considered should Andrea Cambiaso, who remains on Manchester City’s wishlist, leave the club.

Juventus’ sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, is working tirelessly to provide manager Thiago Motta with another central defender. The club’s defensive overhaul has been necessitated by injuries to Gleison Bremer and Cabal, as well as Danilo’s return to Flamengo in Brazil.
