Juventus head coach Thiago Motta expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance following their impressive 4-1 win against Empoli at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday. The victory, which saw the Bianconeri come from behind, propelled them into the top four of Serie A.

In his post-match press conference, Motta began by congratulating his players: “It was a beautiful victory. Congratulations to the players and my boys. It was a well-deserved win.”

Addressing the team’s nervous start, Motta praised his squad’s resilience: “Yes, there was a bit of nervousness, which is why I want to praise my boys. Today we were good at winning the game and playing better than our opponents. Heartfelt congratulations to my boys who played a game with character and courage.”

When asked about the performances of strikers Randal Kolo Muani and Dusan Vlahovic, Motta was particularly pleased with Vlahovic’s approach: “Vlahovic did well to shoot because he scored. I like seeing Vlahovic like this. I like seeing him demonstrate his strength. He must always be like this.”

The coach also set high expectations for newcomer Kolo Muani, stating, “I expect even more from him.”

Motta dismissed suggestions that the win was a relief, instead focusing on the next challenge: “It’s a victory, now we think about Como.”

Addressing a question about Weston McKennie’s performance, Motta strongly defended the player: “I don’t agree. Weston played very well. He’s a great player and has had great games. He’s a hard worker.”

Regarding young talent Adzic’s future, Motta confirmed: “He will stay with us. We have many players in attack, and we need him too. His training is useful for the whole team. If he doesn’t find space in the first team, when possible, he will go to the Next Gen team.”

Motta concluded by emphasizing his pride in the team’s resilience: “I don’t want difficulties to come, but I’m ready to face them. Today my boys demonstrated this. That’s why I want to congratulate them even more. I’m proud to coach these boys.”
