Inter Milan’s Predicted Starting Lineup To Play Barcelona In The Champions League

Start

Our Inter Milan predicted lineup for Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Barcelona will see a number of changes from the Nerazzurri starting XI who lost to Roma on Sunday.

Inter were dealt an injury blow in that 1-0 defeat at the San Siro. Benjamin Pavard was withdrawn in the first half owing to an ankle sprain.

The France international has not travelled with the rest of the squad. However, head coach Simone Inzaghi remains hopeful Pavard will be passed fit for the return leg.

His absence is expected to be felt as Inzaghi will need to call upon either Stefan de Vrij or Yann Bisseck. The latter replaced Pavard against Claudio Ranieri’s side.

However, 33-year-old De Vrij is a lot more experienced than Bisseck. The Dutch star has also scored a number of vital goals in 2024-25.

Bisseck has featured regularly in the UCL this term and has made a total of 10 appearances. However, five of those have come from the bench.

Elsewhere, Marcus Thuram is back in contention and he should be afforded a start. The forward has missed the last three games with an adductor problem.

Marko Arnautovic started against Roma but the Austrian attacker is set to make way for the returning Thuram. So far this season, the 27-year-old has scored 17 goals in all competitions.

Henrikh Mykhitaryan and Alessandro Bastoni are both available after missing the match against the Giallorossi due to suspension.

Bastoni will go back in defence in place of Carlos Augusto, whereas Mykhitaryan will likely get the nod over Davide Frattesi.

Lastly, Denzel Dumfries is set to replace Matteo Darmian in the right wingback role. The Dutch international made his first appearance since late March on Sunday after suffering with a hamstring problem.
