Jurgen Klopp’s Agent Speaks Out After Rumors That Ex-Liverpool Boss Is Joining AS Roma

Start

Reports emerged late on Monday night that suggested Jurgen Klopp is heading to Roma, but his agent has now addressed those claims.

Italian outlet La Stampa had claimed that the former Liverpool manager was due to succeed Claudio Ranieri in the Italian capital.

Naturally, this caused speculation that Klopp would be leaving his role with Red Bull Football Group, where he has been working since leaving Anfield at the end of last season.

The German has previously been linked with both the Real Madrid and England jobs, though neither rumor had any substance to it.

Is Jurgen Klopp Joining Roma?

But with numerous major titles reporting that Klopp is set to join Roma, some believe there is no smoke without fire.

For this reason, Klopp’s agent Marc Kosicke has felt the need to speak out directly to address these reports.

Speaking to Arabic title winwin, he dismissed rumors of Klopp heading to Roma.

Kosicke said: “Klopp coaching Roma? This news is not true.”

La Stampa have since amended their story, stating that Klopp would categorically not be taking over as Roma manager.

It comes just days after, Roma legend Francesco Totti said he would ‘definitely consider’ taking up an ‘important’ role with the club should he be offered one.

What Does Jurgen Klopp Do Now With Red Bull?

Since leaving Liverpool, where he won eight trophies between 2015 and 2024, including the Premier League and UEFA Champions League, Klopp has been working for Red Bull in his native Germany.

He is now the head of soccer for Red Bull, meaning he oversees the multi-club group’s footballing strategy throughout the world.

He has therefore spent time in Japan, the USA and Brazil, visiting Red Bull clubs in each region, as well as working closely with European sides RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg.

With German side Leipzig dropping out of European competition after a seventh-placed Bundesliga finish, a major rebuild will likely be a key part of Klopp’s work next season.
