The summer transfer window is heating up, and Fikayo Tomori is emerging as one of the most high-profile defenders being offered around Europe.
AC Milan have reportedly put the 27-year-old center-back on the market, with Napoli and Newcastle United both approached via intermediaries.
Are Milan Selling Tomori?
According to multiple sources, including CalcioMercato.com and transfer expert Matteo Moretto, AC Milan are ready to part ways with Tomori if a suitable offer arrives.
The English international is under contract at San Siro until June 2027, but the club is undergoing a squad overhaul under newly appointed manager Massimiliano Allegri.
With Milan’s rebuild in full swing, few players are considered unsellable — and Tomori is among those deemed “sacrificable.”
Despite being a key figure since his arrival from Chelsea in 2021, Milan are reportedly prioritizing financial flexibility and squad rotation, especially ahead of a season that will include Club World Cup qualifiers and early Coppa Italia action against Bari.
Tomori Napoli Transfer
Intermediaries acting on Milan’s behalf have formally offered Tomori to Napoli, where Antonio Conte is looking to add reinforcements ahead of their Champions League campaign next season.
Napoli are looking for reliable, top-level experience in defense, and Tomori’s Serie A pedigree — over 100 appearances — makes him a tempting candidate.
While Napoli are also in talks with Bologna for Dutch defender Sam Beukema, the possibility of landing Tomori is under serious consideration, especially as his value may be lower than the €50 million previously quoted.
Tomori Newcastle Transfer
Meanwhile, in the Premier League, Newcastle United have also been offered the chance to sign Tomori.
Sources at Chronicle Live confirm that the Magpies are assessing the defender as an alternative to Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace, whose stock has risen significantly after helping the Eagles win the FA Cup.
Eddie Howe is keen to strengthen his right-sided central defense, and Tomori’s versatility — he can also play right-back — adds to his appeal.
Although Tomori has previously expressed a desire to stay in Milan, he has also admitted that a return to England would be attractive under the right conditions.
“It is an honour and a pleasure to wear this jersey. I never felt the need or desire to leave. But as long as they want me, I’ll stay here,” Tomori said earlier this year.
Milan Transfer Strategy
This is not the first time Milan has explored an exit for Tomori. In January, the club had advanced talks with Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus, both ultimately rejected by the player.
The difference now is the strategic overhaul underway at Milan, where sporting director Giorgio Furlani has made it clear the club is prepared for sweeping changes.
Tomori’s potential departure aligns with a broader plan to refresh the squad while maintaining competitiveness in domestic and international competitions. His departure would also free up significant wage room and provide funds to reinvest in the squad.
Whether Tomori ends up at Napoli, Newcastle, or another club, one thing is clear: his future at Milan is up in the air.
