Inter Milan Step Up Interest In Boca Juniors Starlet Milton Delgado As Youngster Looks To Impress At Club World Cup

Start

Inter Milan are reportedly raising their interest in Milton Delgado and the Boca Juniors’ starlet is looking to impress as the Club World Cup.

Who Is Milton Delgado?

The 20-year-old has made quite a name for himself during his time with Boca Juniors and has been labelled as one to watch for the FIFA Club World Cup this summer.

Delgado joined the Argentinian side at just 10-years-old and worked his way through the ranks before being offered his first professional contract in February 2024.

Just under a month later, Delgado made his senior debut for Boca Juniors in a 0-0 draw against Nacional Potosi and has become a regular name in a Boca jersey.

In the 2024/25 season, the youngster made 10 league appearances for Boca Juniors and these all came in consecutive stars, as he missed the opening six matches to play for the Argentinian U20 side.

He then started in both of the ‘Torneo Apertura’ playoff matches, where Boca Juniors were eliminated by CA Independiente after suffering a 1-0 defeat.

Such a quick rise into the first team has put the entirety of Europe on alert and Delgado has a real chance to show his dominant displays in the heart of midfield during the FCWC.

Boca are in Group C of the tournament, which also consists of Bayern Munich, Benfica and Auckland City, with the Argentinian side drawing 1-1 to Benfica in the opening encounter.

The 20-year-old did not feature in the match and is still looking to make his first FCWC appearance, as they take on Bayern Munich on June 20th.

The German side are one of the favorites to win the competition on the best betting apps and got off to a flying start after beating Auckland City 10-0 in a truly remarkable encounter.

Will Inter Sign Milton Delgado This Summer?

One club that are reportedly interested in the 20-year-old midfielder is Serie A giants, Inter Milan, who are currently going through a huge change following Simone Inzaghi’s exit.

After a humiliating 5-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final, the worst defeat in the final of the competition’s history, Inzaghi decided to move on to pastures new.

The Italian found a new role almost immediately, becoming the head coach of Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal and is one of the highest paid managers in the world.

Cristian Chivu has been handed the responsibility of taking the reins in Milan and will be joined by another former Inter player, as Walter Samuel acts as an assistant.

Inter have already been linked with multiple players this summer, including another young midfielder in Nicolo Rovella, who has been targeted as the perfect replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu.

It is unlikely that Inter will sign two young midfielders this summer, however, Rovella’s asking price is far steeper than Delgado’s as Lazio want around $50 million for the Italian.

Whereas, the young Argentinian player could be available for around $10-15m, despite having another three-years on his deal with Boca Juniors.
