Fabrizio Romano Says Napoli Are ‘In Negotiations’ With Torino For 6ft 8in Shot Stopper

Start

According to Fabrizio Romano, the latest Vanja Milinkovic-Savic transfer news has revealed that Napoli are in negotiations with Torino for the Serbian goalkeeper.

The Serie A champions have already signed Kevin De Bruyne and Luca Marianucci this summer. Head coach Antonio Conte is keen to add more reinforcements with the Azzurri being linked to a number of stars.

USMNT midfielder Yunus Musah is close to joining from Milan. Conte’s side is also trying to navigate a deal for Darwin Nunez.

Danish international and Brighton midfielder Matt O’Riley is another player who could be set for a switch to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

Vanja Milinkovic-Savic Transfer News

The best offshore sportsbooks are all favoring Vanja Milinkovic-Savic to move on from Torino this summer. Napoli are primed to sign the 6ft 8in Serbian international.

Fabrizio Romano said on Thursday that discussions are well underway between the two Serie A sides. Antonio Conte wants to try and iron out a deal sooner rather than later with interest high on Milinkovic-Savic.

Current Azzurri first-choice goalkeeper Alex Meret is out of contract at the end of the month. However, it’s likely he’ll sign a two-year extension next week and become the backup to a new No 1 at the Maradona Stadium.

How Much Would Vanja Milinkovic-Savic Cost Napoli?

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Vanja Milinkovic-Savic would cost €18million. A seemingly modest fee for a goalkeeper coming into his prime and with a lot of admirers.

His current value on TransferMarkt is listed as €16m. Which was last updated earlier this month. However, Milinkovic-Savic’s contract runs out next summer and he isn’t looking to extend his stay in Turin.

Hence why Napoli and his other potential suitors are all lining up now to try and snare him from the Toro. The Azzurri have plenty of cash to spend this summer and acquiring a new goalkeeper is high on the list of priorities.

Are Man United Still Interested In Vanja Milinkovic-Savic?

In early May, the Torino goalkeeper became the latest Man Utd target to replace Andre Onana at Old Trafford. That still remains the case but Vanja Milinkovic-Savic would likely prefer Champions League soccer next season.

The Red Devils are once again trying to rebuild their roster after a disastrous 2024-25 campaign. Ruben Amorim’s side labored to 15th spot in the English Premier League rankings and lost the UEL final to Tottenham.

Many names have been touted to replace Onana who has had a difficult 24 months in the red half of Manchester. It’s highly unlikely Milinkovic-Savic would join Amorim’s men but he is still on their shortlist.
