Rafael Leao Cools Down Talks Over AC Milan Departure As Portuguese Star Claims Playing For Rossoneri Is A ‘Dream’

Start

Rafael Leao has cooled down talks over a possible move away from AC Milan, after claiming that playing for the Rossoneri is a ‘dream’.

Will Rafael Leao Leave AC Milan?

The Portuguese star has become one of the hottest properties in Europe after his performances for AC Milan and is now being linked with a move away from the San Siro.

During the opening weeks of the summer transfer window, reports suggested that the 26-year-old is looking to move on this summer despite signing a new deal with the club in June 2023.

This extension is set to expire in 2028, meaning any possible move this summer would cost over $110 million and also a substantial wage agreement.

Milan have already started to look for replacements if Leao does leave the club this summer, showing heavy interest in Manchester United star, Alejandro Garnacho.

However, in a recent interview with L’Officiel, Leao commented on his time with Milan and appeared to cool down any talks of a move – labeling the club as one of the most important in the world.

Rafael Leao said: “I have always followed Milan, even before joining the team. It is one of the most important clubs in the world, and wearing this shirt is a dream.

“I am 25 years old and I am in the prime of my career. I know that many children look to me as an example, and for me, this is better than calling myself a champion.

“I want to play as long as possible. When I stop, I would like to spend as much time as possible with my family and live a quiet life.”

Who Is Interested In Signing Rafael Leao?

Obviously, Leao’s uncertain future has attracted interest from multiple clubs across the globe and Bayern Munich have reportedly been in contact over a possible deal.

The German side reclaimed the Bundesliga title after Bayer Leverkusen clinched the trophy in the 2023/24 campaign and will be looking to strengthen to put in a strong performance next year.

Leroy Sane has decided to move on from the German side, joining Galatasaray in the opening weeks of this summer window and Vincent Kompany will now be looking to add a winger to his roster.

As previously mentioned, any deal will need to hold a transfer fee of around $110m and Bayern are the current favorites to land the winger on Serie A betting sites.

Another important factor will be Leao’s family, as the Portuguese international spoke about the importance of his closest loved ones when making any decision in soccer.

Leao said: “My family has been, and is, fundamental to me. They have always stood by me in the most difficult moments, and for this, I will never stop thanking them. My father and mother taught me that to do great things, you have to make equally great sacrifices.”
